Over the past 36 years, Warren Lusk of Lusk Geo Inc. has:

  • reviewed thousands of hydrogeological and groundwater development and mitigation reports prepared by professional geoscientists and professional engineers for scientific completeness and compliance with environmental legislation. 

An expert review typically involves a critical assessment of the quality and completeness of a scientific report, including: 

  • data collection methodologies,  
  • assessment of the data collected, figures and mapping,   
  • interpretations used to support conclusions and recommendations,  
  • offering suggestions to improve the quality of the report, and 
  • offering recommendations to allow the regulator or an adjudicator make a decision on a proposal.  

Mr. Lusk has specific subject matter expertise in: 

  • water well construction, maintenance, abandonment and reporting, 
  • impacts of flowing wells to public health, safety and the environment, 
  • impacts of open and closed loop geothermal (or earth energy) construction to public health, safety and the environment, 
  • source to receptor (e.g., well) migration of industrial and agricultural contaminants in groundwater,   
  • impacts of groundwater dewatering projects (e.g., quarries, mines, construction) on existing wells,  
  • proposed development (e.g., subdivisions, quarries, commercial, energy system) potential impacts on existing groundwater resources, water balances and water wells. 
  • applying the requirements Ontario Water Resources Act, Environmental Protection Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Nutrient Management Act and their regulations to groundwater, water well and geothermal issues. 
  • applying Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks guidelines and manuals that relate to groundwater, water well and geothermal issues and developments.
